The environment is one of the most beautiful natural places in Spain, without a doubt. The area does not stand out for its good restaurants, which I do not understand.
usual. lack of maintenance is absolute. You find all kinds of gadgets in the gardens and around. selfless staff can do little because they have to do everything, they don't give more. It's reality meat "kitchen nightmare" or "this hotel is a wreck". It is a pity to see how the lack of interest of the owners manages to demolish such a magnificent place. With very little money and some interest you can transform this place into a reference point of the area. lack of taste and total ignorance of the decoration and what the hotel business is all about is evident in every detail. Tube televisions (yes, what you read... with tdt without batteries in the remote control, nonexistent drawers ( there are no drawers for the luggage), closet is solved with a niche in the wall with a bar and a curtain that closes it, enormous desolate rooms (badly decorated)... There are no drawers for the luggage, wardrobe is solved with a wall niche with a bar and a curtain that closes it, huge and desolate rooms (badly decorated), remains of electrical appliances damaged by the back of the gardens and courtyards, broken cribs, remains of firewood piled up in the parking, you go to work that is not very good for what they serve, there is not a single blind in the rooms that can be raised, in short... as I say it saves the environment and staff who is delivered 100%. Look at the mistake that they have to ask for a bottle of water on a Friday for dinner and tells us the poor man (who does everything) that there is no water, it's over. That on the eve of the weekend and in the month of June. From the owner, he's not even expected.

The best, the staff, both at the reception, at breakfast and at dinner, charming. The room is very wide and spacious, it looks like an apartment (2 bedrooms and living room) but it does not have a kitchen, it does have a microwave and a fridge, but no kitchenware. The views from the restaurant, at sunset, beautiful. The menu of the restaurant is a bit short, but everything is very rich and very well priced.
Bad cleaning. There was lint (a lot of it) under the beds, in the living room even pieces of cookies under the couch. pool was very dirty, purifier was working but they didn't pass the pool cleaner, dinner terrace, wide and with a good view, with lots of unwiped leaves, from several days. somewhat abandoned facilities, with a little care (and some money, of course) would be a fantastic place. Breakfast was not scarce, not very varied (bread for toast and industrial bakery) and products of doubtful quality (very bad ham and cheese, boat juices).

Staff seemed friendly enough, room was very large, warm and clean and freshly painted.
I comparison with other places we stayed in around the region, for the same price (which was very reasonable) the bed was not really acceptable. VERY basic mattress - we simply cannot believe that all those famous Spanish politicians have slept in those same beds as us! Perhaps they slept elsewhere and just ate here. Overall not bad, but food not that great, breakfast again very basic. They really ought to understand the log fire - it was cold and raining and it would have been 100% nicer in the restaurant if it had been roaring - NO EXCUSE letting the logs get wet!!!!! (I'd arrange tables for 2 around it, especially as they were obviously quiet and should be trying to encourage guests to stay for dinner ). If the owners have time to get to Baeza, I'd recommend they have a chat with the owners of Hostal Aznaitin. I wouldn't recommend simply because for me a comfortable bed is the most important thing.

The welcome from the staff was EXCELLENT--they wanted to do their utmost for us. The food was also very good-real authentic--portions far too big--YUMMY!

I believe we had appartment no. 4 first floor (4 beds). The management is busy improving the outside of the location. The entry to the appartment is particularly nice with a wisteria pergola. The inside of the appartment is a bit old and not very well kept. See below. Really nice young man at breakfast
No airco but two fans. Evening performance (twice) at neighbouring hotel from 11.30-01.30, though sound could be ruled out by putting the fan next to your bedside. Curtains were broke. Touch them and they fall down. Same goes for some of the cupboard doors. Dogs of Spanish guests at the poolside: one horrible being called Paco/Paquito.

The restaurant was quite good. Breakfast was typical, but generous. The views were incredible as the hotel is perched on the side of a mountain off a narrow mountain road 3 km beyond the tiny village of Torres.
The bathroom was not dirty, but the drinking glass clearly had not been changed. When the owner was alerted, he seemed unsurprised or concerned. Bed was soft and pillow hard. Facility, especially the outdoor area, is a bit run down.
